Free your inner Scorcese: EML helps Movidia develop the technology behind mobile filmmaking
Campaign launches the concept of real-time video editing on mobile
phones
EML has been retained by Movidia to launch the company and
its pioneering mobile video processor technology. Technology
PR agency EML was chosen because of its well-established track
record in delivering effective, results driven campaigns particularly
for technology companies targeting mobile phone makers. The
global PR campaign focuses on launching the company’s technology
to key handset makers particularly in Asia, and EML will help
Movidia to show how its technology benefits real-time video
editing of user generated content (UGC), to address the growing
demand for social networking on mobile devices.
Industry analyst house, Juniper Research, recently forecasted
major revenue growth for mobile social networking applications,
with expected user revenues to grow to as much as $7.3 billion
by 2013. ABI Research confirms expectations of huge growth
in mobile social networking technologies with 140 million users
expected worldwide by 2013. Movidia’s innovative mobile video
processing technology will enable mobile handset designers
to quickly take advantage of this rapidly growing market.
Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Movidia is a fabless semiconductor
and software company with offices and development centres in
Hong Kong and Romania. Movidia’s advanced low power video processing
brings massive processing power to a mobile device - allowing
videos to be edited directly on a mobile phone and removing
the need for an intermediary PC. The technology will open up
a whole new range of social networking applications for mobile
phones and will enable handset designers to produce significantly
differentiated devices with a richer feature set than ever
before.
“As a start-up we could easily see the value that PR could
provide Movidia and took the agency review process extremely
seriously to ensure we sourced the right partner,” said Bob
Tait, Director of Product Marketing Movidia.“ EML works with
some of the biggest semiconductor names in our sector and we
immediately felt they knew our technology and our customers,
and had exactly the right experience in the markets we are
targeting. From the outset EML understood exactly what we wanted
to achieve. The EML team delivered a friendly, no-nonsense
pitch, and have been extremely proactive from day one of the
campaign.”
EML Director, David Marsden, commented. “Mobile social networking is going to significantly change the ways in which people use their mobile phones. Phone manufacturers are constantly looking for ways to differentiate their products and Movidia’s technology is providing designers with unparalleled capabilities targeted at UGC. We look forward to an exciting and energetic campaign.”
EML has recently announced the completion of Movidia’s Series A funding round, and is now focussing the campaign on promoting Movidia’s first product across Asia and Europe, due to launch in early 2009.
